When is Teacher Appreciation Week?

Teacher Appreciation Week runs Monday, May 6, to Friday, May 10.

What day is Teacher Appreciation Day?

National Teacher Day 2024 is this Tuesday, May 7. According to previous reporting by USA Today, the holiday was originally established after former first lady Eleanor Roosevelt urged Congress to create an official day to recognize teachers. Originally, National Teacher Day was celebrated on March 7, but in 1984, it was moved to May. Around the same time, the National Parent-Teacher Association assigned the entire first week of May as Teacher Appreciation Week.
