Abstrak . Sifat fisis dan mekanis kayu kelapa dievaluasi pada tulisan ini. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk menetukan karakteristik kayu kelapa dari beberapa lokasi di Sulawesi Utara (pada 4 daerah) dan Maluku Utara (pada 2 daerah). Penelitian dilaksanakan melalui uji laboratorium, dengan metode pengujian didasarkan pada ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials). Hasil pengujian menunjukkan bahwa bagian batang kelapa bawah luar memberikan performa yang lebih baik (unggul) dibandingkan dengan bagian batang kelapa lainnya. Lebih lanjut, nilai dari hampir semua jenis pengujian, yang meliputi: berat jenis, kadar air, kuat tekan sejajar serat, kuat tekan tegak lurus serat, kekerasan, kuat geser sejajar serat, kuat tarik sejajar serat, penyusutan volumetris dan kuat lentur kayu kelapa, cenderung memberikan trend yang sama. The increase in the export volume of coconut logs, which are materials that can efficiently substitute for conventional wood, demands that the quality of coconut wood classified quickly. However, due to the limitations of a grader as a human being, it is necessary to have assistance from machines or technology that can classify coconut wood quickly. Techniques that used for rapid classification can use computer visualization. Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) with the right architecture makes this method able to recognize and detect objects well, which influenced by computerized factors, large datasets, and techniques to train deeper networks. This study uses five types of CNN architecture, AlexNet, GoogLeNet, ResNet101, ResNet18, and ResNet50. Kajian ini membahas leksikalisasi bagian-bagian pohon kelapa dan fungsinya dalam kehidupan masyarakat Jawa di DIY, khususnya wilayah Kota Yogyakarta dan Kabupaten Bantul. Kajian berkenaan dengan upaya inventarisasi dan pendeskripsian atas fungsi dari leksikalisasi. Kajian ini memanfaatkan pendekatan etnolinguistik. Dengan demikian, leksikalisasi dipahami sebagai cermin cara penutur memaknai fungsi sebuah realita bagi kehidupan mereka. Data kajian ini berupa kata (leksem) yang menunjuk bagian tertentu pohon kelapa. Data diperoleh dengan metode simak yang dilengkapi dengan metode cakap. Pembahasan pada kajian ini bersifat deskriptif kualitatif. Analisis memanfaatkan analisis semiotik. Pada tahap awal, analisis menerapkan metode analisis komponen. This research aimed to identify the morphological characteristics and phylogenetic relationship of several genotypes of coconut in Silau Laut district Asahan regency Sumatera Utara. The research was conducted from April to Mei 2017 by survey method based on coconut descriptor of International Plant Genetic Resources Institute (IPGRI) with sampling technique using accidental sampling. This result of research showed that in Silau Laut district there were 27 genotypes of coconut been identified. The result of morphologycal characteristics for crown shape (spherical, hemispherical, X-shaped ‘silhouette’), flower shape (normal and additional spathes or bracts), fruit shape (oblong, ovoid, angled, round), nut shape (pointed, ovoid, almost round, oblate). Fish catch handling highly influential by the quality of fish that must kept to be fresh. Maintaining the quality of the catch is done with good handling and correctly, especially the storage of fish is highly influenced by the quality of insulation (Insulator). Polyurethane is a solid plastic foam mixture by polyol and Isocynate commonly used as a thermal insulation material on fish hold. Coco fiber derived from coconut fruit seeds contain about 30% of the seed oil. Part of the cross section in the unit cell has a central hollow fibers that serves as an acoustic and thermal insulator so as to decrease the bulk density of the fiber is very well used as an insulator because it has a low thermal conductivity. This research used coconut fiber for composite material because the potential for its utilization was very large and not yet been optimally done in Indonesia. This study aimed to determine the effect of variations in fiber composition towards sound attenuation and porosity. Composite was made 3 variations of coconut fiber composition, namely 40%, 50%, and 60%. The results of the sound attenuation test, composite that has the greatest attenuation power was composite with variation in coconut fiber composition of 60% with an average NAC value of 0.1446. While the highest porosity value was also obtained from composite with variation in coconut fiber composition of 60% with an average porosity value of 28.0663%.
