1. Please state the effective date (day and month) of your organisation's 2022 pay review.

2. If the 2022 pay review has yet to be finalised please state the month in which you anticipate it will be concluded.

3. Please state the employee group/s covered by the 2022 pay review.

4. Please state the total number of employees covered by the 2022 pay review.

5. Please provide a copy of your 2022 pay agreement (if applicable) orgeneric pay circular sent to employees (that is one that does not identify any individual employee) outlining the outcome of the latest pay review if there are no collective negotiations.

6. Please state the % consolidated basic pay rise received by the lowest-paid adult employee as a result of the 2022 pay review excluding the effect of any incremental progression, merit pay or bonuses.

7. If an employee's annual pay award is determined solely according to an assessment of their individual performance (commonly known as a merit increase) as opposed to an across-the-board pay rise (where all employees generally receive the same increase irrespective of their individual performance) please state the percentage of the paybill allocated to fund these awards, the average increase and whether or not the awards are consolidated.

8. If any employees were eligible for one-off individual performance-related payments or bonuses over and above the general pay rise please state the range of awards (either as a percentage of their base salary or a cash amount as applicable) and the overall % of the paybill allocated to fund them.

For delegated grades (Grade 6 and below), the effective date of our pay settlement was 1 August 2022.

Q2. If the 2022 pay review has yet to be finalised please state the month in which you anticipate it will be concluded.

The pay review for 2022 has been concluded.

For delegated grades: 5555 taken from staff counts as at 31 July 2022.

Pay agreement after collective negotiations with UKSA's recognised Trade Unions:

2022/23 Pay Offer

1. To maximise the funding available within the SR settlement and allowed by Civil Service pay guidance, by paying an award of whichever is higher (subject to the maximum of the pay range) of:

  • Either £850 (Full Time Equivalent, pro-rated for those who do not work full time hours) or
  • A 2.5% increase.
  • An increase to the minimum of the Executive Officer (EO) pay ranges by 4% (inclusive of the £850 increase)

2. To simplify the pay system by removing the entry spot rate for Administrative Assistant (AA), Administrative Officer (AO), Field Force, International Passenger Survey (IPS) and Telephone Operator grades, and moving all colleagues currently on these rates to a new single spot rate for each of these grades.

3. Revise the pay system and increase fairness by uplifting the Grade 6 minima to remove the overlap between Grade 7 maxima and Grade 6 minima.

4. To increase the minima of all pay ranges by £850.

The increase for the lowest paid adult employee was 6.98%.

Q7. If an employee's annual pay award is determined solely according to an assessment of their individual performance (commonly known as a merit increase) as opposed to an across-the-board pay rise (where all employees generally receive the same increase irrespective of their individual performance) please state the percentage of the paybill allocated to fund these awards, the average increase and whether or not the awards are consolidated.

Not applicable.

The in-year recognition award scheme delivers awards of between £50 and £250, and colleagues can receive multiple awards over the course of a year. The allocated funding for the in-year recognition award scheme equates to 1% of the delegated grades paybill.

Q9. Please state the overall paybill increase as a result of the latest pay review expressed as a percentage of the paybill.

The award equated to a 3% increase in the paybill.

Q10. Please state the name of the union/unions party to your main collective agreement covering pay and conditions if there are collective negotiations.

There are three recognised trade unions: First Division Association (FDA), Prospect, and Public and Commercial Services Union (PCS).
