Central Mississippi:

Fun Friday – Jackson – Friday

  • Not all dinosaurs used sharp teeth and claws for protection. Explore the world of dinosaur defense methods with fun games and activities!

Flags From Mississippi Gallery Talk: Conservation – Jackson – Friday

  • In celebration of Flag Day, Kathryn Etre, director of conservation at MDAH, will discuss the preservation of flags within the exhibit and the role of museum conservators in preserving these artifacts for future generations.

Belhaven Block Party – Jackson – Friday

  • There will be live music, drinks and ice cream!

Fleet Feet Coffee Run– Ridgeland – Friday

  • The group usually makes a large loop around the area. After the run, the first round of coffee is free on Fleet Feet!

The Juneteenth Extravaganza – Natchez – Friday

  • This special event will celebrate Juneteenth through the music of several prominent blue artists at the Natchez City Auditorium.

Natchez Day of Unity – Natchez – Friday

  • The City of Natchez will hold its fifth annual Day of Unity event.

Cheeseburger Challenge – Natchez – Friday

  • Five to 10 teams will compete head-to-head to see who makes the absolute best cheeseburger.

  • The JXN TattooSoul & Arts Festival is an event that will put a spotlight on the creative talents of tattoo artists and piercers.

  • With advanced animatronics, a multi-layered narrative, cutting-edge research, in an outdoor environment surrounded by nature, you’ll experience the Age of Reptiles brought back to life.

PAW Patrol Adventure Play Exhibit– Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Save the day through hands-on play at the Mississippi Children’s Museum’s summer exhibit in Jackson, PAW Patrol: Adventure Play!

Flags from Mississippi– Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • The exhibit features 20 flags made from a variety of fabrics, such as wool and silk. Some were sewn by hand. Highlights include an original Magnolia flag, adopted in 1861 as the first official flag of Mississippi, that has been saved by conservators after it became severely fragmented.

“Thank You Please Come Again” Exhibit– Jackson – Friday, Saturday & Sunday

  • Thank You Please Come Again features twenty-two photographs that document photojournalist Kate Medley’s ten-year journey through the heart of the American South.

  • Grease: School Version will be performed at the Madison Square Center for the Arts.

Jackson Zoo Fishing Rodeo – Jackson – Saturday

  • Get ready for the Jackson Zoo’s youth fishing rodeo. This exciting event is absolutely free for boys and girls aged 15 and under.

Juneteenth Freedom Day Yard Fest – Jackson – Saturday

  • Attendees can explore the rich history of Tougaloo, known for its pivotal role in the Civil Rights Movement, and its continued commitment to social justice. The event will include live music, art exhibitions, traditional food, and engaging discussions that reflect on the journey towards freedom and the ongoing struggle for equality.

  • This will be a home game double header at the Jackson Convention Complex.

  • The film celebrates the life of James ‘Super Chikan’ Johnson, whose musical career has touched those living in the South and beyond.
